Barney Greetings,

My name is Linda Malicki, founder of Barney's. It might seem a bit strange to have named a business dedicated to clean, well-groomed, socialized and well-behaved canines and felines after our dear old Barney. Barney, a shepherd-terrier mix adopted from the APL, was none of the above! If she found some gross, smelly substance during one of our walks, she couldn't resist rolling in it. Image Name

She hated the hose with a passion, attacking it fiercely whenever it came anywhere near her. When we left her at home with her canine sister Marty, she plotted, planned and carried out ferocious attacks on the furniture, littering the living room with stuffing. Waste baskets were fair game, too. And yet, she was frightened of other dogs as well as most people. She barked at them fiercly, but behind me, with just her muzzle poking out between my knees. I could go on, but I'm sure you get the picture. Barney could have used a place like Barney's K-9 Resort.

So, why "Barney's"? Probably because she always had so much fun. She loved her humans immensely and she could always make you laugh and feel better. She embodied living life to its fullest! Our lives were always richer and more interesting when Barney was around. We think that's the way it ought to be for all dogs and their people. That's why Barney's K-9 Resort exists.
